its also slightly wavy, and I have it very very long. I was wondering how can i get it nice and straight plus sits nicely with no frizz. I use a straightner but in like 30 minutes its frizzy. plus the heat does too much damage to my fine hair.

Though there are many causes of of frizz, it occurs when the hair's cuticle (it's outermost level) becomes "roughed up". Normally, the hair's cuticle is smooth. A smooth cuticle will appear shiny and leave hair tangle-free. When the cuticle layers are roughed up, the strand becomes dull, prone to tangles, and creates the dreaded condition known as frizz.

Frizz can be prevented simply by using the proper shampoos and conditioners. Most hair problems can be remedied by switching to the right products. Shampoos work by opening up the cuticle layers, releasing dirt and residue caused by pollution, and build-up caused by styling products. For the cuticle to be opened, a product must have a basic pH (by basic, I'm referring to the opposite of acidic. If it's not an acid, it's a base. You remember that from science class, don't you? Of course you do...). Conditioners work by re-sealing the cuticle, and should have an acidic pH. Many store-bought products have a pH that is too harsh for many hair types. If you must use store-bought, look for shampoos that claim to be "hydrating", these products will help hair maintain a healthy moisture balance. Try to avoid over-shampooing, as this will contribute to making hair dry and over-stressed. By shampooing every other day, and using a good, professional conditioner as needed, you'll be on your way to shiny, healthy, beautiful hair.

Humidity is also prone to make hair do strange things. Your hair is very sensitive to moisture. You may have noticed how youre hair appears frizzy on humid days. This is because your hair (which is dry and in need of moisture), becomes "thirsty", and it will try to absorb the water molecules in the air.

Another way to avoid frizzy hair is to let your hair air-dry as much as possible. Heat damage is a major cause of frizz. Never, ever, blow the hair completely dry, and when it comees to choosing a blow dryer, more power does not equal better results. 1600 watts is plenty! In the salon, we use the blow-dryer to remove about 90% of the moisture, leaving the ends (which are sensitive) slightly damp. On hair that is likely to frizz, I recommend using a large-barrel curling iron or straightening iron to smooth out the hair. By smoothing hair that is slightly damp with a large iron, it becomes similar to the way an iron removes wrinkles from clothing.

Whether you air dry, blow-dry, or curl your hair, the benefits of using a smoothing serum can never be overstated. There are many products out there to smooth frizz, and they come in many forms, such as liquids, gels, waxes, pomades, and creams. Smoothing serums, which look like clear, syrupy drops, usually contain silicone, which smoothes the cuticle and gives tremendous shine. The downside is that using too much product at a time can make hair look and feel greasy. A few drops will be enough for even the longest, thickest hair. I prefer products in a gel form, since most people have a good idea on how much product to use. My favorite is a product by Graham Webb called Stick Straight. It was developed to temporarily remove curl from the hair, but I find it works wonders on long straight hair, men's hair, and ethnic hair types. I apply a small amount to damp hair, then blow it dry. After curling, I emulsify a small amount of dressing wax by vigorously rubbing it in the palm of my hands. Then i smooth down any fly-aways or frizz. Instead of wax, you can use a grooming cream or liquid smoothing serum. My preference for a wax is a pomade called Hair Play by KMS. Another good wax is Back-to-Basic's Green Tea Dressing Wax. For those of you who prefer drops, try Glass by Redken. By smoothing the hair in the fashion I have just described, you can attain that stick straight sleek look, as worn by celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston, Selma Hayek, and Cher.

For those people blessed with curls, apply a frizz-control gel evenly through damp hair and leave air-dry or blow-dry with a diffuser attachment. A good gel to use is Control Freak by TIGI. It also has a great smell to it, as most of their products do.

Keep in mind that hair should be trimmed every six to eight weeks to remove dead ends. While split ends, technically known as trichoptilosis, differ from frizz, they can also make otherwise nice hair appear fuzzy, dull, and lifeless.

Ok,you can do lots of things to help this! You can get your hair cut,use Garnier Shampoos%26amp; hairstyling products. Their Smoothing Milk is for frizzy hair. You can also use a dryer sheet! Try some serum for your hair before you straighten it too! It helps reduce the damage of using your straightner! Hope this helps!

I gotta say, i think its a bad idea. Once it stops working it will leave your hair frizzier and more dried out than before. Maybe try just using a little less product? You could try also putting your hair in french braids before you go to sleep and the next day take them out and your hair will be nice soft waves. Also, you could try flat ironing your hair once and awhile, but not too often. I just advise agaisnt the perm. Especially tight curl.

NOoooo... please don't get a tight curl perm! You will probably regret it unless you have had one and know what its like. Get a straightening iron and use Redken "sleek look." It will make all the difference.

You don't have to have a perm to just cure it, because if you do get a perm, theres chance of losing so much hair because it's thin. Mines exactly the same style! Honestly and it's a pain in the bum isn't it?! =D What i do is, when blow drying, i use serum to keep down the frizz and make it smooth and soft, blow dry downwards with a bristle brush, then section it by sections to straighten and it's dead soft with 'bit of hairspray on top to keep the extra frizzness down, then it's done! Try and not play with it alot as it can make it go static! good luck!

That sounds like a hot mess. I would get a good haircut and then I would buy a straightening serum like (Extreme shine) and you put that on while its wet and then take a brush and blow dry it as straight as you can and then flat iron it. There was a woman who had a similar problem as you on the show "What not to Wear" and this is what they did for her. She was using straightening chemicals on her hair and the stylist told her that she was damaging her hair.

it also comes out easily. i have tried several products and done those"self cure" things, and nothings working. i also have very bad split ends, but am afraid to cut it off, because i cut 2 inches off a couple years ago and its just starting to grow back. its so thin that when i pull it back it looks like a thin like is around my head. also, very sparse hair grows for an inch above the ears instead of hair the thickness of the rest of it. any advice??

I am a stylist and can honestly tell you, the longer you leave split ends the worse and thinner your hair is going to be. Split ends are essentially dead hair and can NOT be repaired, which is why they have to be cut off. If they are not cut, the breakage will go further up the hair strand until ALL of your hair is gone...dead and you'll be sporting a brand new crop of hair sprouts. PLEASE trim the spit ends before more breakage occurs. The way you described your hair when pulled back, your hair is probably also breaking from traction alopecia, which is hair loss due to the constant pulling into tight buns, ponytails, braids, etc. Let your hair rest a while, after your split ends are cut, I recommend a scalp treatment, to stimulate your scalp and hair follicles so that the regrowth is nice and healthy. Hey, wigs, scarves and caps aren't bad choices when letting hair relax a bit - they're quite fun. No braids or weaves though, at least for now. You'll soon notice how much faster and thicker your hair begins to grow once your hair and scalp are healthy. Hope this helps!

lol my friend has WICKED thin hair. I have side bangs. What I like to do is after a shower, comb out my hair and let it dry down for 10 minutes or so. Then I like to put it in a pony tail with the bangs put back in a bobby pin. In the morning, I flat iron my bangs and part my hair to the side. My bangs are on the left, so I part my hair to the right. Yours might be vise versa. Good Luck!!!!

I am currently 19 and have very thin hair. I use to dye my hair about once every two - four months starting when I was about 13. I stopped coloring my hair so often and cut down to twice a year when I was 16. I started to notice the hair thinning when I was about 16-17. Hair thinning does occur in the family, like my mother has thin hair, and her mother has thin hair, but my mother's isn't as thin as mine. Ok. here is the truth. A balanced diet, plenty of water and prenatal vitamins. I have lost a 100 pounds recently, and while I am not telling you to loose weight or anything crzy i am saying that I have changed my diet with fruits, vegetables, and protien is important. make sure to get regular trims so that you dont have to cut off more than you need to. use a good shampoo and conditoner, try a sulfate free kind, sulfate can be really harsh on fine thin hair. sulfate is found in most shampoos, its used to lather and clean the hair, but it can really strip your hair and dry it out.i just switched to one and my hair feels a lot better.(its called L'anza healing moisture) do a deep conditioning mask once a week (but get a good brand from a salon, like joico's K-pak). its good you dont use heat on it often, that really helps, so do the vitamines. the main thing is cuts and shampoo's. most people think their shampoo is helping them when it's really hurting them more.

I think that it's just split ends. make an appointment at the Hairdressers and have about an inch cut of. Then ask your hairdresser what is best to use. Wash it regularly but NOT everyday. Also let your hair dry naturally. Blow drying and straightnening can damage your hair especcially if you do it after the other. So refrain from doing so.

well of course the first thang you need to do is get a volumizing shampoo and conditioner and make sure when you condition your hair to put the conditioner in your hair to use a wide tooth comb and comb the con. through your hair. it makes it super smooth and help to detangle (just make sure you dont squeeze the excess water out before you apply the con). and dont try to scrub your hair dry with a towel...to help with volume after you comb your hair out flip your hair over upside down and twist it up (gently) and use a hair claw to pin it on top of your head. after you get dressed let your hair fall free and you should have some amazing body!

If you a in the UK go to superdrug and there is something called wax away wand which is similar to the spot stick you can get, just use the thin applicator to apply the wax and then use the paper strips to pull it off, follow the instructions, its a piece of cake

i advice u to drop all the hair dye crap. dont use any chemicals on it it will only make it worse. i advice u to use natural hair products to dye it such as henna. henna comes in 2 colors. red and blak. if u mixed both colors togeda it will b brown. beware of false henna. sometimes merchants add some chemicals and lowers the amount of the natural product cuz its cheaper to him . so b sure to buy it from a hair salon that u trust.

I had the same thing done about two years ago. I HATED it! My hairdresser told me since i have thick hair, that it would be great for me. I spent the next 3 days with all the hair she razored out falling all over the place. The best thing you can do for now is brush you hair 2 or 3 times a day ( it helps it grow out faster) and for now i'd say keep it up in a ponytail as much as you can. Maybe in a month or so you can go to a different stylist and have them try and fix it.

You do realize that she did just say she was contemplating highlights, right? No where in her question did she say she would dye her all of her hair! I think that you should also take into consideration the amount of time you have before the wedding. You don't want it to be less than two weeks away because if you don't end up liking it, you'll pretty much be screwed. I think to be on the safe side, you should start more subtle and slightly increase the highlights to your liking. If the wedding is more than a couple weeks away, you at least have a chance to let the highlights fade a little or have them redone. Good luck and have fun at the wedding!

Nope, the colour may look great, but going from black to blonde is chemically impossible...that is too many levels for the de-colourizor to lift. Trust me I have tried 1000 times...Your hair will break off and break apart, and will comb apart, etc. Not worth it. Unless you have Asian hair, my little sis is 1/ 2 Vietnamese and I can bleach the **** out of her hair...and it keeps on kicking...But use caution with de-colourizor and thicker hair, everyone has different hair..

Just because your brother doesn't have thinning hair doesn't mean you won't. You have to look to your mothers side and only your mothers side of the family. If anyone on her side of the family has thinning hair, chances are you will too.

I'm not sure about products or implants or things like that but you can definitely try it out. Maybe you should talk to a doctor or a dermatologist and he/she can recomment something for you. Make sure you research completely before you settle on a decision.

Buzzed in the back where it is full and leave the top longer. You can take Gelatin tablets to keep what you have healthy. About the only thing I found that worked was Rogaine and yes, if you decide to go that route (and if it works for you), it is a 2 x's a day process for the rest of your life. Once you stop using it, you will lose any hair re-growth.

Herbal Essences and DOVE volumizing shampoos/conditioners are both very good. I once had thinning hair and after using the DOVE volumizing for a few months I saw a wonderful change, now I'm using HE. I also have really thin dry hair and A LOT of it it tangles really bad when I let it get long so I really know where you are coming from the shampoo and conditioner. What I have found works the best is Pantene Pro-V for dry hair. The great thing about panteen pro-v is that since it is such a popular brand the wal-mart and other major super stores make a generic brand of it. I have very fine, thin hair that flys away if I don't condition, but it seems that my hair gets used to my shampoo %26amp; conditioner, so I change what I'm using every so often, or else my hair decides to look %26amp; feel greasy, and I don't want to strip it by having to wash out the conditioner.

Also, you might want to just put a bit of conditioner on your palm and just apply it sparingly to the ends where your hair is the dryest, and then wipe the rest through your hair, so it won't fly away, that way you won't be using too much. I usually don't pour it on my head, it's too easy to overdo it, and I end up conditioning areas that really don't need it.

A good conditioner is worth the money, and as long as you only use as much as you need, it should last a long time. Cheaper conditioners like Sauve are ok, but everyone's hair is different, and it might not work as well for you.

As previous posters have said, there really is no such thing as a teacup. Thats just a term that sellers use to describe their abnormally small size. Your yorkie is a regular yorkie and should have the same exact coat as any other yorkie. Your dog may just not have a very good coat, probably due to genetics and how it was inheritated by the parents.

I knew you where gonna catch hell for using the "teacup" phrase and I can't say I disagree w/ everyone not liking it, it's a missleading phrase used by some breeders. We have a 2 1/2 lb. Yorkie, he was an "only child" and TG he's very healthy, he's 11 years old right now. Only problem was he lost his tiny teeth in the front to early. As for the coat my GF says that's a hard question, they have all sorts of different types of hair, wire, smooth etc... Guess you'll have to research it a bit.

I can relate because I too have baby fine hair. Here's how I manage mine:

(1) I keep my hair fairly short %26amp; cut in short layers

(2) I get a perm every six months, as it changes the texture of my hair, making it more manageable

(3) I use Pantene hair products on my hair, including the "spray gel" that I spray in/comb through, before using the blow dryer/curling iron.

Welcome to the club!

I normally use a moisture infusing shampoo and I use a deep conditioner daily .

Then before I style I always use a light mouse and then I tease the crown and use a three barrel waver .

And if I'm leaving it straight I usually tease all sections close to the roots.that way it looks fuller .

But make sure you don't over load on product !

And stay away from any hair product with Sulfur!

Make sure you use some kind of product whether it is mouse or gel. I would recommend guts by redken it works great. Make sure you put the product in the root mainly, it will get else where but focus on the root, too much product on the ends will weigh it down and cause it to look thin. Then of course blow dry upside down going the opposite way that the hair grows.

I have really thick hair and what I do is straighten it everyday with a ceramic iron, its not too bad it only takes about 30 minutes to do and it makes your hair really thin too, not curly at all. If you dont want to do that you could always get a japanese straight perm or whatever its called. I've never had one but I hear they work. The only problem with flat ironing your hair is that you could be damaging it, so maybe only iron your hair when you go out of the house to prevent extensive damage.

it doesn't grow back thicker, but you have to understand what thinning actually does. the process of thinning creates shorter pieces of hair in between the regular longer pieces of hair. depending on the stylist (and whether he/she really knows what he/she is doing) these pieces can be placed WAY too close to the scalp, causing the short pieces to actually push UP on the longer pieces as they grow out, making the hair appear poofier, or thicker, and making it harder to flat iron and actually get FLAT. i am NOT an advocate of thinning hair. get a good layering job done. layers thin hair in a much more modern and effective way. and if your hair has any curl at all, thinning it will cause all kinds of funky pieces to stick out at all kinds of funky angles and it is not a good look. i only thin hair when the client INSISTS and even then, they sign a permission slip. i will texturize when the style requires it (ie: a short, spiky style, or one of those weird "emo" styles), but thinning is usually completely unneccessary. discuss it with your stylist. if they know your hair, they should know whether it is really right for your hair. worst case scenario, try it out midshaft and farther out (and please SPECIFY midshaft and farther out!!!) so it won't take you long to grow it out if you hate it. i have had people thin mine to my SCALP before. i was PISSED. i could have strangled the idiot. took nearly a year to get it grown back out. and it looked ridiculous. so just be careful.

Exercise, proper diet, hair thickening shampoo and thickening Moose. It will look thicker if she flips over and blow dries while upside down. Blowing volume into the roots first. Then blow dry the rest of the hair how she normally does. A good cut makes all the difference.

Try waxing in conjunction with Aveeno Positively Smooth lotion which diminishes the hair follicle. There's also a device called the "No! No!" hair removal system which gives out microscopic waves of heat that they claim actually kills hair follicles. I'm on the waiting list for it myself, I'm going to use it on my arms, legs, face, everywhere but my head. :)

And body hair removal is not as unacceptable as it used to be, lots of athletes do it all the time.

Start shaving and you'll have to do it forever to keep the look. There is no way to thin it out permanantly with out electrology (permanant hair removal). They can do just some of the hairs rather than all but it is a bit painful and can be expensive. Quite frankly most girls like the hairy man - it's more masculine and accepted. If you really want to impress the girls just be confident in yourself - we'd rather have confidence (and some muscle) than hairless bodies any day.

first of all layers are very bad for thin hair because they make your hair look flatter and even thinner,they are meant only for thick textured hair.So you should start growing your hair out and have the ends trimmed into a blunt cut.To increase volume try a natural thickening shampoo(some suggestions at the end of my answer) use a diffuser if you blow dry your hair and mouse or leave in conditioner blow dry with your hair combed foreward and then flp back to finish it with some volumizing spray.

Finally, and probably the easiest if you have long hair is to turn your head upside down and dry the hair until just the ends are damp. In all of these techniques, dry the root area of the hair first.

A little backcombing in the crown provides a longer lasting style.

you can't...hair is part of you like anything else...you can't make your eyes a different color and you can't make your hair a different texture. You can add volume to it with thickening shampoos, etc, but all it's really doing is adding buildup (usually wax) to the strand.

Your best bet is to get a great cut to make the most of the hair you do have...and take vitamins such as Folic Acid to help it grow stong and healthily.

you can't change your hair by cutting it...think about it...how would taking anyhting off the end of the strand affect what's happening beneath the scalp's surface. It MAKES your hair look healthier to cut it AND it won't break as it is getting rid of those split ends!!

Make sure you are using good products and that's all you can do. Not everyone is dealt a good hand with hair or anything...

Biotin works just fine. I'm a hairstylist and I've had my "thinning" clients on Biotin and Flax. If you go to your local health food store you can find Flax seed oil, Flax seed pills, or actual Flax seeds. I recommend the Flax oil pills. Don't dye your hair any darker, as the contrast to the color of your scalp will just accentuate any thin spots. You could try a good shampoo for scalp stimulation...Nioxin is a good one. Tea tree oil helps stimulate the scalp as well. Try to go as long as possible between shampoos, don't over brush your hair, and avoid pulling it tightly in a pony tail. Hope this helps!

Even I'm 22 and my hair is pretty thin. But it doesn't look so due to its coarseness and volume. Your light-coloured hair could blend with your scalp, too, so I wouldn't really suggest turning it dark. Mine is jet black and it shows against my white scalp, but thanks to the volume it blends in. If you're really worried about it, try perming your hair. The perm could give your hair a boost. But, you have to really moisturise it and eat well after that.

If you just want a little cheat to tide you over until you wash it again then you could try a dry shampoo, the only one i know of though is called batiste, you can get it in the supermarket. You can also spray the greasy areas with hairspray and then you blast it with the hot setting on the hairdryer, theres something in the combination that just makes the grease disappear. I don't think there is anything medically you would want to do to make her hair grow. I had the thinnest whitest hair when I was little- my mom had to put sunscreen in my hair because my scalp would burn. Now my hair is sooo thick (%26lt;---and red now, lol) I have to get it thinned out. Just be patient and keep the ends healthy and trimmed. Maybe try some conditioner like Pantene- that is healthy. However, the best solution I've come across is to cease using conditioner, or use it less frequently, as it weighs down your hair, and then to do a full blow out using a thickening spray and a natural bristle brush. Rusk Thick seems to work very well. Remember to spray at the roots and lift hair up and away from the roots when blow drying, also avoid hair gel and it creates a stiff and heavier do which will again lessen the effect of fuller hair. Finally, you may also want to procure a teasing comb (less than a dollar at beauty stores I'm sure) and tease at the roots before smoothing hair over the teased roots to hide them.

As a licensed cosmetologist I can tell you that it is in fact coating the hair with wax. 99% of the time when I shampoo a client's hair who is using a wax based shampoo, I can feel it. This is bad for your hair because, sure, at first the shine is nice, but after a while, the wax builds up, causing it to look dull. Also, with any sort of buildup on your hair shaft, you are prohibiting any moisture to actually get into the hair. There are plenty of good professional products that can deliver the same amount of shine as the kind you buy in the grocery store.

In my pro opinion, it's probably from your medical cond. and will most likely start thickining again once your cond. stabilizes. Many medical problems affect your hair and if your diet changes and especially of you lose weight quickly your hair tends to thin and fall out.

For the time being try to be gentle to the hair you have to prevent from breaking the fragile hair (stay away from perming, coloring, using alot of hot tools*at least limit it). Try using Nioxin products (sold at salons). With one use of the Shampoo and the Foam like treatment my husband had people ask whether he got hair implants because it made his hair appear thicker.

Take some viatmins and take care of your health and you should see your hair loss begin to cease and hopefully grow back.

You didn't say how long it is now, or how old you are, but some layering will give it body which will make it appear thicker.

Use Straight Sexy Hair Shampoo and conditioner. It can be found at salons. I usually wash my hair, apply an extremely generous amount of conditioner and then get out of the shower and wrap a towel aound my head without rinsing the conditioner out. I usually leave it in for about an hour to 2 hours. Then I rinse it out and its lovely. I do this once a week. Also before doing anything else.. right when you get in the shower, shampoo and condition FIRST and leave the conditioner in for the duration of your shower. Then rinse when you are ready to get out! After shampooing, try a root volumizer at the crown and both sides of head. Dry hair upside down with blow dryer. Then, put the top half of your hair up in a clip. Work with the bottom layer and curl hair in a spiral direction. Curl each section in a different direction. Finish bottom layer and repeat on top layer. Finally add flexible hairspray.

If your hair is anything like mine, the curl will still tend to fall out, especially at the roots, so I also bring along a small clippie for later in the night...I can at least hide the top half that had gone straight and still have curls at the bottom.

Also, to get a messy wave, shampoo your hair the night before. Do not dry. Put your hair in several loose braids all around your head. Make sure the braids start pretty close to your head and end at the very tip of your hair. The next morning after it feels dry, carefully untwist each braid with your fingers. Do not brush...it will just turn into a frizzy mess. Style it with your fingers and finish with hairspray.

1. Dont wash your hair everyday or blow dry it. It needs a rest and combing the natural oils through your hair may help.

2. Get a salon moisturizer and use it twice a week. Also get a good quality salon leave in conditioner.

3. Take a multi vitamin every morning with your breakfast.

4. Drink more water.

5. If you are feeling more tired than usual, go talk to your doctor and see if your iron level is low. Do NOT take iron supplements on your own.. ONLY if your doc advises you to do so.

6. Dont brush your hair when its wet, or pull it back or braid it. Comb it only until it is dry.

There are sooo many options these days for hair...Here are a few:

1.For thin hair (my sister has thin hair and likes me styling it) get curls, it makes your hair look so much thicker.

2.Get a track or two put in underneath your hair if you want. They're made to look so much like your own if you get the right color to match your hair.

3.Use volumizing shampoo and conditioner so that it will look like more.

4. Be happy. There are people who wish their thick hair would go away. I'm sure you're beautiful with thin hair just as much as you would be with thick, so be happy either way!

I don't personally think layers help if you're starting off with thin hair, they just draw attention to the thinness. If you don't want to have your hair cut short try working volumising mouse into your hair and blowdyring your hair upside-down (as in from the underneath). There are also numerous shampoos and conditioners on the market for exactly this problem, and while I haven't tried them myself, I've heard good things about them.

Hi there!

A few years ago, my hair went from thick to thin thanks to illness. It's started thickening up again recently, but it's been a slow process. I want to get a thick blunt fringe (bangs), but I get the feeling my hair is too thin and fine for me to pull it off. Is there any way I can do it naturally? Would hair extensions work? Am I better off sticking with the sidebangs I've had for about two years or so? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

extensions would not work for such a sort length, especailly since your scalp would be visible through the part (where the bangs hang from.

if you are close to pulling it off, i know girls who have thin hair and make it look thick by blow drying your hair (and bangs) upside down, while using a non-abrasive hairspray (a pretty good inexpensive one i like is Dove, try to stay away from high alcholol content). then style.

if you are unsure, ask your friends (the frank honest ones, lol), and your hair dresser. you uncertainty says that you will not be OK with getting this hair cut only to relize it was a mistake, so make sure that the odds are in your favor before going through with it. you may want to consider matching your new bangs with chunky layers, that will give the illusion of depth.

I had the same problem. Past tense, as you see. I miss my thick hair sometimes, my hair is now medium and I think it is because of what I did with it. I used to try straightening it every morning, but like you mention it takes A LONG TIME. I turned to hot rollers and they helped to keep my hair volumous where it needed to be and not puffy where it didn't need to be. Worked well. I got tired of it, though, and I turned to chemical straightening. Now sometimes if you chemically straighten your hair (Mine wasn't too curly, just wavy and THICK) it will straighten it forever. That was my case. My waves and curls NEVER came back and my hair was straight and tangle free and more 'medium' than 'thick'. Eventually I wore dreadlocks (it was actually hard to do because my hair was not tangling much anymore) and I had those for about a year and a half. My hair seemed intensely thick then, ;-) I have since removed them and my hair is just back to medium, and still straight. Before chemically straightening I found that a really good conditioner works, as long as it doesn't say 'volume' in the description, lol. I would use Herbal Essence or a natural one (made from fruits, eggs and cream) and I would keep it in my hair for a long time. The trick for having this work is to change up the shampoo every bottle because it helps to remove buildup. Good luck!

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

put a headband on or use a tight clip. if that doesnt work than when u go out, put it in a ponytail, than when u get into a non explosiv hair area take it out. LOL hope that helped

I say, let it fly while pretending you are a superstar. The only thing you can really do is put holding spray on it but I don't recommend that because it causes your hair to break off. I would rather have flying hair then damaged hair.

tell them to cut it,and RAZOR in some layers.

razoring it will create sharp layers.

tell her to razor your bangs aswell to make them choppy.

if your hair is flat,

backcomb it.

lift up a layer of your hair all around your head,
