well... according to me, I have thick hair but according to my friends and family i have EXTREMELY THICK HAIR. well my hair is pratically so thick that if i let my hair grow my hair would look like a giant porkipine (im asian). i dont like the idea of layering.

Pretty much the only way to do it would be layering. You may have to become a little more flexible in order to get what you want.
I have very thick, curly hair and I had to layer it, totally going against what I wanted because I was at the end of my rope. I did it and now I love it!
Try it once, you can always let it grow out if you don't like it!

Thinning scisssors would do, but if you do not for some strange reason, try a razor blade.

um wel just get it thinned i did and you can't notice and just dont get heaps cut out
